Fondée en 1847 et installée dès 1899 au 13 de la rue de la Paix à Paris, la maison Cartier s'y développera rapidement, la société restant entre les mains de la famille Cartier jusqu'en1964. Fournisseur de nombreuses cours dans le monde, Cartier en 1904 créa la première montre bracelet pour l'aviateur Santos-Dumont et continua en fabriquant des modèles qui feront date dans la création horlogère française. En 1910 apparait le motif pathère qui sera désormais l'emblème de la maison, en 1923 la "Trinity", en 1969 la ligne "Love".... Avec un raiseau de plus de 300 boutiques Cartier maintient une forte implantation internationnale.
