Après son brutal décès, Yves Saint-Laurent agé alors de 20 ans reprend la maison Dior. 1975 voit la création de sa première ligne d' horlogerie. Le passage sous le contrôle du groupe LVMH accélère l'ascenssion de la marque. La diversité des créateurs dans les différents secteurs d'activité est une des raisons du succés, comme celui du département de la joaillerie pris en main par Victoire de Castellane. La maison Dior est actuellement une des plus importantes dans le monde du luxe.
